South East Simmental Club Autumn Calf Finals
In a new move for 2013, the South Eastern Simmental Calf Finals were hosted by Tinahely Show, Co. Wicklow, on Bank Holiday Monday. With this also came two new sponsors in the form of Greenvale Animal Feeds and Portasol De Horners.
Calves qualified from Athlone, Clonmel, Mullingar Enniscorthy and Ossory Show were eligible to compete in their relevant finals.
The finals were judged by Mr. Fintan Goff of the Ballintlea Herd, Co. Wexford.

Greenvale Animal Feeds Yearling Heifer Champion: Clonagh Dainty Kay, Garrett Behan, Ballyfin, Portlaoise. By Clonagh Wonderboy out of Clonagh Kay.
Portasol Weanling Bull Champion: Clonagh Dancing T, Garrett Behan, Cloneygowan, Ballyfin. By Banwy T-Rex out of Clonagh Tilly Fiona.
Portasol Weanling Heifer Champion: Clonagh Dixie Princess Joan, Garrett Behan, Cloneygowan, Ballyfin, Portlaoise. By Banwy T-Rex out of Clonagh Princess Joan.
Having come through from the main Simmental classes, the breed topped of a tremendous day by scooping the overall Interbreed award with breed champion, Jennalyn Crimson Lady from Lyndsey Behan, Cloneygowan, Ballyfin, Portlaoise. This two and a half year of in calf heifer is by Banwy T-Rex out of a Raceview King dam, Jennalyn Scarlet.
The next event for the South Eastern Simmental Calf will be the Winter/Spring Calf Finals taking place at Tullow Show on the 18th August.
