The last Simmental Sale of the season took place at Roscommon on Friday evening May 15th.
There were 16 bulls catalogued but sales in the days before the sale led to just 9 bulls being offered for sale with 6 selling to an average price of €2300.

The Champion Bull ‘Village Fire’ was exhibited by Ulick & Nora O`Sullivan, The Glebe, Killarney, Co. Kerry. Born in January 2014 and sired by Curaheen Vio and out of a Raceview Van Halen dam Silken Barbie. Winifred Clinton, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway was the purchaser at €3000.

The Reserve Champion went to Ray Bracken, Daingean, Tullamore, Co. Offaly with a February `14 born bull ‘Cruithill Frances’ who is sired by Dermody Butcher. Dermot Kenneally, Carhudyff, Lahinch, Co. Clare was the buyer at €2400.

Included in the sale was a selection of Simmental X Breeding Heifers and these met with a very strong demand with export customers competing with Suckler farmers. The following is a selection of prices:
